Introduction
Missions Fellowship Day (MFD) is seen by many as a day not to be missed. It has previously been known as Missions Family Day and before that the South London Missionary Conference. Formed in the early 1990’s following the demise of the much loved London Missionary Meetings, MFD is organised by 6 committee members representing several evangelical churches in London and the South.
Speakers
To date, more than 120 missionaries and occasional home-workers have presented fascinating first hand reports of the Lord’s work. At least three delegates give a vivid presentation of front line global mission activity at every event.
Facilities
MFD is very happy to have use of the excellent facilities provided by Woodside Green Christian Centre which is fully accessible. The Centre has a hearing loop and for those who wish to bring small children the conference is relayed into the reception area where there are some toys. There is some free parking at the Centre and in the surrounding streets..
Practice
In accordance with New Testament practice, missionary brethren are invited to speak publicly and are often accompanied by their wives who are available to speak to visitors during the free-time. (All delegates and their wives wear name badges).
Funding
The running costs of MFD are funded by local churches so that 100% of the offerings taken on the day can be given to the missionaries attending the event.
Refreshments
Using the church’s catering facilities, refreshments are provided for all visitors free of charge.
Stewards
Stewards are on hand during the day to assist the less able and guide visitors around the building and its environs.
Feedback
We welcome feedback as this is useful to the committee in the planning of future events.
